PARTY TIME!
For the last three years Alabama 3 have been hosting a
regular (and very irregular) party weekend, running over two
nights in Lewisham and Brixton.
‘Outlaw’ is not just another club night. It is an event, a
happening - never to be repeated and not to be missed.
Each month is a veritable banquet for music lovers of all ages,
musical tastes and backgrounds and from all across the
country.
THE DANCE ROOM. Hosted by DJ/Producer MASS_IVE' s
CandyshopRecords and the almighty Misztifiedminds Records.
In the dance room the tempo is kept to the max, all night
long, with fresh new forward thinking progressive "n"
Electek
produced music straight from the desktop and
hardware(live). The dance floor stays packed and lively until
the early morning hours.
THE LIVE ROOM
In the live room a host of new and exciting young bands
perform music reflecting the varied genres that Alabama 3
have embraced in their own work – expect live acts performing
country, blues, funk, punk and dirty old rock n roll, all cut with
an alternative edge, and seamlessly brought together by our
regular DJs playing grooves that keep the audience on the
floor between acts. Expect cabaret and performance artists.
Expect the unexpected…
The live show is headlined by Alabama 3 Acoustic and
Unplugged, the acclaimed four-piece outfit who bring a whole
new dimension to the songs made famous by Alabama 3. This
isn’t acid house music, this is country/gospel/delta blues, but
played with a rhythm you’ve still got to dance to.
“The ghost of Mississippi Fred McDowell haunting the fingers
of Rock Freebase on guitar, Larry Love’s larynx looser than
Howlin’ Wolf. Devlin Love’s vocals as sweet as Sister Rosetta
and Harpo Strangelove’s harmonica cooking up a Sonny Terry
vibe - welcome to the Delta Blues alive and kicking in 2008”
